September 13-14, 2017
Würzburg, Germany

We are pleased to announce to organize the local competition of the Pre-5th Mission Idea Contest Workshop (PreMIC5). The PreMIC5 Workshop will take place in parallel to the Pico and Nano satellite workshop (PiNa) from September 13-14 2017 at Würzburg University. PreMIC5, local competitions are organized worldwide. Winners will be given an opportunity to give a presentation during the 5th UNISEC-Global Meeting in Rome, December 2-4, 2017.

Objective

The MIC was established in 2010 to provide aerospace engineers, college students, consultants, and anybody interested in space with the opportunity to present their creative ideas and gain attention at international level. The primary goal of MICs is to open a door to a new face of space exploration and exploitation. The development of micro- and nano-satellites started as an educational and research activity primarily in the framework of university laboratories. As the micro- and nano-satellite technology matures, it has spread rapidly across the academy and industry for practical and commercial application.

Participants of PreMIC5 are asked to propose Mission Ideas and Satellite Designs targeting satellites with a total mass less than 50 kg. The objective is to encourage innovative exploitation of micro/nano satellites to provide useful capabilities, services or data. Any individual, group or company with suitable space systems expertise and an enthusiasm for nano-satellites is welcome to submit an abstract.
