The new media provides future-oriented possibilities to extend the traditional acquisition of knowledge and information. In this context, the developed tele-experiments are an interesting application to use the available resources of the internet for an expansion of the education offered at the Universities.
These learning units are ready to use by the students of natural sciences and engineering sciences 24 hours a day and they can be tele-operated from home.
Using real hardware, these experiments combine the theory and the practical use. Here , the students can test their acquired theoretical knowledge on real hardware and they gain experience about external interferences and deviations.
The co-operation with other Universities has the advantage of increasing the utilization of this expensive hardware.
